They called it Lukaro (Note that Lukaro is a mix of both Luke and Rona's names). Taking over an existing space from a failed salon, they immediately became too busy to concentrate on creating a salon atmosphere that was all their own. Although both were engrossed in work, they continued to comb the city for a location that would accommodate their dream. That dream became reality in October of 2000. The salon offers a Mediterranean feel, with light-colored walls and archways contrasted by beautiful mahogany doors. Several separate rooms lead off the main lobby area to the styling and treatment area, each with only a few technicians, eliminating the crowded, chaotic feeling so common in larger salons. A pitched glass roof floods the lobby with natural light. Large trees and the soothing sounds of a fountain add to the sensation of outdoor serenity. A large retail area also features flat-screen computer terminals where clients can surf online or access information on products and services.
